I have established a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit called The Barry Fixler Foundation. All of the royalties from Semper Cool will be paid directly to The Barry Fixler Foundation, which will then distribute the money to directly to wounded troops and their families, and, on a case-to-case basis, to select nonprofit organizations.
ONE MILLION DOLLAR GOAL
My goal is to raise at least $1 MILLIONfor wounded combat veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Well meaning individuals have cautioned me that publicly stating my goal may be perceived as naïve or pretentious—or both.
I have already, with the help of the great Americans and patriots in my home county, raised more than $100,000 for one wounded warrior. When America gets behind this entertaining book and this great cause Our One Million Dollargoal will seem too low.
I say to them: “You’re under estimating America!” It may be MY goal today, but I’m not doing it alone.
