Barry Fixler Leads NYC 2012 St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Barry was honored when they asked him to march with other veterans in the 2012 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, but in a typical Barry-like fashion he somehow ended up leading the entire parade alongside New York City mayor Bloomberg, the Cardinal and one other dignitary. The NYC Fox Television Station, Fox 5, assuming Barry was a VIP, followed him for five blocks. This video shows one of the interviews they conducted.

“It really was one of the highlights of my life—millions of people waving and cheering as I walked up the street in my dress blues holding a copy of Semper Cool,” Barry said. “How often does a normal person like me get to lead the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade?”
